The 4th World Conference on eXplainable Artificial Intelligence gathers researchers working on interpretable and transparent AI in Fortaleza, Brazil. Expect three days of papers, special sessions and demos spanning XAI methods, evaluation and applications, with proceedings via Springer.
The World Conference on eXplainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI) is an annual multidisciplinary venue dedicated to making machine-learning systems interpretable and accountable. Its 4th edition runs 1-3 July 2026 in Fortaleza, Brazil, bringing together computer scientists, philosophers and domain practitioners.
The 2026 programme is unusually broad, with more than a dozen special sessions covering mechanistic interpretability, explainable agentic AI, neuro-symbolic methods, uncertainty-aware XAI, and XAI for healthcare, the physical sciences and education. This breadth reflects how explainability has moved from a niche concern to a requirement driven both by model complexity and by emerging legal transparency obligations.
Accepted papers are published with Springer. For attendees the draw is a focused community working on one of the central open problems in modern AI: making black-box models trustworthy enough for high-stakes deployment.
