BRACIS 2026 — 36th Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems
📅 Monday, 19 October 2026 → Thursday, 22 October 2026 in 95 days
Major Brazilian academic AI conference, central to the national intelligent-systems research community.
BRACIS 2026, the 36th Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems, convenes in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, from 19 to 22 October 2026 at the Centro de Eventos do UniSENAI. BRACIS is Brazil's foremost gathering for researchers publishing novel results in Artificial and Computational Intelligence, formed from the merger of two long-running national events — the Brazilian Symposium on Artificial Intelligence (SBIA) and the Brazilian Symposium on Neural Networks (SBRN). The organisers position it alongside international conferences such as AAAI, IJCAI and NeurIPS as a serious peer-reviewed venue, and accepted papers are submitted for publication in Springer's Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence (LNAI) series and indexed in SBC OpenLib.
For attendees the appeal is the breadth of the technical programme. Topics span machine learning and deep neural networks, large language models and generative foundation models, computer vision, natural language processing, reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, evolutionary computation, fuzzy systems, knowledge representation, explainable AI, and AI ethics, accountability and societal impact, among many others. Submissions are organised into four tracks — a main track, AI Applications for Social Good, General Applications, and Published Papers in Top Venues — under a double-anonymous review process. The 2026 programme is chaired by Mariana Recamonde-Mendoza (UFRGS) and Rodrigo C. Barros (PUCRS). BRACIS anchors a larger umbrella of co-located events in Cuiabá, making it a strong focal point for the Brazilian and wider Latin American AI research community.
