FARI's 5th annual conference asks "Brussels, Capital of AI?" — AI for the common good (23–24 Nov 2026).
FARI Brussels Conference 2026 runs 23–24 November 2026 under the theme "Brussels, Capital of AI?". Organised by FARI – AI for the Common Good Institute (jointly initiated by the universities VUB and ULB), the 5th edition examines the ethical, societal and economic implications of AI, data and robotics, with a focus on public value, sovereignty and inclusion. Day one is at Studio Flagey, day two at BeCentral; speakers include the EU AI Office's Lucilla Sioli alongside the institute's academic directors.
Its framing is genuinely current: as cities from Paris to Helsinki claim to be "the capital of AI", FARI interrogates what that race means and whether fragmented hubs need federating — a thoughtful, public-interest counterweight to vendor-driven summits.
