VIB's new AI and Computational Biology conference — Leuven, 9–10 Dec 2026, with a frontier speaker line-up.

AI and Computational Biology takes place 9–10 December 2026 in Leuven, Belgium, the newest chapter of VIB's conference series (building on Applied Bioinformatics in Life Sciences, running since 2016). It spans four themes — genome to function, cell to system, disease modeling, and innovation in machine learning — with a frontier line-up including Mohammed AlQuraishi (Columbia), Valentina Boeva (ETH Zurich), Jan Funke (Human Technopole) and Anna Kreshuk (EMBL).

AI's integration into the life sciences — from protein structure to single-cell and spatial omics — is one of the most consequential scientific shifts of the decade. This conference is a high-quality European venue where the methods and the biology are discussed together.
