Machine Learning Summer School Tübingen 2026

📅 Monday, 31 August 2026 → Friday, 11 September 2026 in 46 days

📍 Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tübingen, Germany

The 50th edition of the Machine Learning Summer School: twelve days of lectures, tutorials and poster sessions at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems in Tübingen.

The Machine Learning Summer School reaches its 50th edition, and the 2026 instalment returns to Tübingen — where the series has run repeatedly since 2003 — hosted by the Empirical Inference department at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems.

The format is twelve days of “lectures, tutorials, and poster sessions”: long enough to teach properly rather than skim, and long enough that the poster sessions become the real networking. It is a two-step process — you apply first, and only confirmed applicants may register. Indicative fees run from around €500–700 for students to €2,000 for industry, covering tuition, meals and social events but not accommodation.

The speaker line-up has not been announced. The official speakers page says only that the list “is being finalized”, so treat any published MLSS 2026 line-up you see elsewhere with suspicion. Supported by MPI-IS, CIFAR and the ELLIS Institute Tübingen.
