📍 Bremen, Germany

HIIG's 3rd Workshop on Public Interest AI is co-located with the 49th German Conference on AI (KI 2026) at Messe Bremen. It focuses on AI projects built to serve the common good and the transparency challenges around their real-world impact in health, mobility and justice.

The 3rd Workshop on Public Interest AI, organised by the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG), takes place on 11 August 2026, co-located with the 49th German Conference on AI (KI 2026) at Messe Bremen. The master CSV listed Berlin; the official call confirms Bremen.

The workshop examines the fast-growing set of AI projects designed to serve the public interest or common good, and the recurring problem that their development and impact are often opaque, in domains such as health, mobility and justice. It invites short papers (5-9 pages, double-blind) for discussion among researchers and practitioners.

As a one-day academic workshop attached to a national AI conference, it is a focused, research-led venue rather than a large event.
