IPTA 2026 — 15th IEEE International Conference on Image Processing Tools, Theory and Applications

IPTA 2026 is the 15th edition of the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing Theory, Tools and Applications, held in Kolkata, India, on 16–18 December 2026. As a long-established, IEEE-affiliated series now in its fifteenth year, it is a well-grounded international forum dedicated to advances in image processing, computer vision and related AI technologies, bringing together researchers, academics and industry practitioners around visual intelligence.

The technical scope is wide, organised across nine tracks: image-processing principles and tools; video processing and representation; computer vision and pattern recognition; imaging technology and applications; medical and biomedical image processing; geospatial and remote-sensing imaging; signal processing and computational imaging; industrial and real-time vision automation; and emerging topics such as explainable and trustworthy AI in imaging, generative vision models, quantum image processing and image forensics. The organising committee is genuinely international, with general and programme chairs from Jadavpur University and other Indian institutions alongside collaborators in France, the USA, Finland and Austria, and a steering committee spanning several European universities. Accepted and presented papers are slated for submission to IEEE Xplore (subject to IEEE approval), and the programme includes special sessions, tutorials, an industry forum, a PhD forum and student paper competition, and a Women in Engineering session. For computer-vision and image-processing researchers, it is a substantive, established venue set in Kolkata.
