AgentUI: The frontend layer for the agentic era

AgentUI: The frontend layer for the agentic era is a half-day community event hosted by ReactPlay Bangalore on 6 September 2026 in Bengaluru, held as part of Bengaluru Tech Week 2026. It tackles a corner of applied AI that is often overshadowed by model and agent work but is increasingly where the user actually meets the system: the interface layer.

The premise is that AI is changing how applications are built and that the frontend sits at the centre of that change. The event focuses on agent-driven interfaces, real-time AI state, tool-calling UIs and human-in-the-loop design patterns — patterns the organisers note are “no longer experimental” and are now shipping in production. It is deliberately inclusive: aimed at frontend engineers exploring how agents fit into the UI layer, but also at backend, cloud and architecture people curious about how the frontend is evolving. React expertise is explicitly not required.

This is a genuinely under-served topic. As agentic systems become interactive — streaming intermediate reasoning, requesting human approval mid-task, rendering tool outputs and managing live AI state — the design and engineering of AI-native interfaces becomes a discipline of its own. A community session that gathers the practitioners working on agent-powered frontends, open-source UI tooling and the product questions around human-in-the-loop design fills a real gap, and doing it in Bengaluru taps one of the largest frontend-engineering communities in the world.

The published format includes several talks (topics TBD at listing), a panel discussion and networking; venue and speaker details were still to be confirmed.
