I2COMSAPP 2026 is the 3rd International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and its Applications in the Age of Digital Transformation, hosted by the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques at Nouakchott University, Mauritania, from 14-16 December 2026. Accepted papers are published in Springer's Scopus-indexed Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems. The programme spans AI for healthcare, finance, cybersecurity, robotics, agriculture and generative AI, with international keynotes.

I2COMSAPP 2026 is the third edition of the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and its Practical Applications in the Age of Digital Transformation, taking place on the Nouakchott University campus in Nouakchott, Mauritania, from 14 to 16 December 2026. Organised by the Faculty of Sciences and Techniques (FST) of Nouakchott University, it is one of the only internationally indexed AI research conferences anchored in Mauritania — a meaningful entry for West African / Sahel coverage.

The conference frames AI explicitly through the lens of development: it argues that AI and machine learning offer developing countries a route to leapfrog traditional development stages across healthcare, education, economic growth, infrastructure and sustainable resource management. Building on previous editions whose papers were published in Springer's Scopus-indexed Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS) series, the 2026 edition again invites international contributions on recent advances, practical applications and future trends in AI and ML, with emphasis on impact in developing regions.

The programme is organised into a broad set of applied tracks: AI for digital economy and finance (algorithmic trading, fraud detection, recommendation systems); AI for biometrics and cybersecurity (face, fingerprint, iris and voice recognition); AI for healthcare and well-being (diagnosis, predictive modelling, telemedicine, drug discovery); AI for education (intelligent tutoring, automated assessment); AI for autonomous systems and robotics (autonomous vehicles, drones, industrial automation, smart cities); AI for energy and resource management; AI for agriculture and food security (precision agriculture, crop-disease detection); AI for culture and accessibility; generative AI and creative technologies; and AI for networking, cloud and emerging tech including 5G/6G and edge computing.

Announced keynote speakers are senior academics rather than political figures, including Prof. Haitham Abu-Rub (IEEE Fellow, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, on AI for renewable-energy-dominated grids), Prof. Hend S. Al-Khalifa (King Saud University, on Arabic NLP), and Prof. Adel Bouhoula (Arabian Gulf University, on formal methods for safe and secure critical systems). Strategic partners and collaborators include COMSTECH, ALECSO, GIZ, Springer, the University of Derby's Data Science Research Centre, and several Mauritanian institutions.

Key dates from the official call: paper submission 31 July 2026, acceptance decisions 30 September 2026, camera-ready and registration 15 October 2026. Sessions run in English; registration is required. Researchers, practitioners and graduate students working on applied AI should confirm the current deadlines on the official site before submitting.
