Generative Decision Sciences Conference 2026
📅 Thursday, 26 November 2026 → Friday, 27 November 2026 in 170 days
A free, hybrid research conference at the Johannesburg Business School (University of Johannesburg) on data-driven decision-making, with a dedicated track on AI and knowledge-driven decision systems. Delegates can attend in person in Auckland Park or online, with peer-reviewed proceedings published in DHET-accredited form.
Hosted by CODATA (the Committee on Data of the International Science Council) and the University of Johannesburg's Centre for Applied Data Science, the Generative Decision Sciences Conference 2026 runs 26-27 November at the Johannesburg Business School in Auckland Park. The programme brings together researchers, policymakers, industry leaders and practitioners around data-driven decision-making, with an explicit emphasis on open science, FAIR data and inclusive participation from the Global South.
Across nine tracks the conference foregrounds artificial intelligence and machine learning: a dedicated AI and knowledge-driven decision systems track covers explainable AI, human-AI collaboration, generative AI in knowledge creation, and algorithmic bias and ethical AI, while the applied data science track addresses machine learning, predictive modelling and decision intelligence. Other tracks span data governance, knowledge management, sustainable development and indigenous knowledge systems.
Registration is free and the event is fully hybrid, with full papers due by 31 August for double-blind review. Note that AI is one of several tracks within a broader decision-science and information-management programme; an editor should confirm the AI weighting against the directory's core-theme rule before publishing.
