Generative AI for Epidemiology Researchers: Practical Skills and Responsible Use

📅 Thursday, 21 January 2027 → Saturday, 23 January 2027 in 188 days

📍 Wengen, Switzerland

Three-day course on responsible generative-AI use in epidemiology and public-health research.

Part of the Epidemiology Winter School in Wengen, Switzerland, this three-day course runs from 21 to 23 January 2027 and focuses squarely on generative AI for epidemiology researchers. It sets out to equip participants with practical, critical and ethically grounded skills for applying generative AI in their research, combining lectures with computer practical sessions.

The course is taught by Kene David Nwosu of the GRAPH Courses and the Université de Genève, alongside Professor emeritus Matthias Egger of the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine. Attendees are asked to bring a portable computer, and onsite IT support is available on request.

Registration is open, with fees tiered by affiliation: CHF 600 for Bern-based PhD students, CHF 800 for other PhD students, CHF 1,000 for academics and CHF 2,000 for industry participants. Set in an Alpine village, the format suits epidemiologists and public-health researchers who want a focused, hands-on introduction to responsible use of generative AI rather than a broad survey. Confirm the current registration deadline via the official page.
