European Frontier AI Safety Day 2026

📅 Saturday, 5 September 2026 in 54 days

📍 Berlin, Germany

European Frontier AI Safety Day 2026 in Berlin (5 Sep): a free, application-only convening of European AI-safety institutions on governance, impact measurement and AI security institutes.

The European Frontier AI Safety Day 2026 (EFAIS 2026) is a free, full-day convening in Berlin on 5 September 2026, organised by Safe AI Germany (SAIGE) and co-hosted by the Foresight Institute. It brings European AI-safety institutions and researchers together to coordinate on where the field goes next, and is deliberately built around working sessions rather than a stage-only format.

The programme mixes parallel talks — on the state of European AI governance and on measuring AI's impact — with practical workshops on getting into AI governance and technical AI governance, a showcase of projects from SAIGE's incubator, and a closing panel on establishing European AI Security Institutes. Confirmed speakers at the time of writing include Max Reddel (Arq Foundation), Tilman Räuker (Pivotal Research), Philip Fox (KIRA Center), Bruno Galizzi (SaferAI) and Jessica P. Wang (Safe AI Germany), among others.

Because it is free and application-based with limited space, it suits researchers, early-career people and organisation-builders who want to plug into the European safety community rather than passive spectators. The venue was still listed as to-be-announced when this entry was written; confirm the location and secure a place through the official EFAIS page.
