📍 Saarland University, Saarbrücken, Germany

Five-day ELLIS summer school at Saarland University on trustworthy and responsible AI in pharmaceutical research. Registration closes 19 July; student fee €250.

A five-day ELLIS summer school on “the critical challenges at the intersection of artificial intelligence and pharmaceutical research” — explainability, robustness and responsible practice applied to drug discovery specifically, rather than trustworthy-AI theory in the abstract.

Confirmed speakers include Jonas Fischer (MPI for Informatics), Oliver Crook (Oxford), Miriam Mathea (BASF), Daniel Probst (Wageningen), Johannes Schimunek (JKU Linz), Kerstin Lenhof (UMG Göttingen), Sofia Imperatore (TU Eindhoven), Philipp Flotho (Saarland) and Meelis Lootus (Tehistark), with a hands-on workshop from Andrea Volkamer and Lisa-Marie Rolli.

Places are capped at 30–50 and allocated by pre-registration, aimed at PhD students, postdocs and researchers. The student fee is €250. The registration deadline is 19 July 2026 — the binding date if you want to go. Held at Saarland University; sessions are in English.
