AutoML 2026 — the International Conference on Automated Machine Learning, Ljubljana, 28 Sep–1 Oct.

AutoML 2026, the International Conference on Automated Machine Learning, runs 28 September–1 October 2026 at the Faculty of Computer and Information Science, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is the dedicated venue for research on automating the design, tuning and deployment of machine-learning systems.

What you gain & who presents

The 2026 keynote line-up is excellent and forward-looking: Jure Leskovec (Stanford) on relational foundation models, Petar Veličković (Google DeepMind), Carola Doerr (CNRS–Sorbonne) on black-box optimization, and Niki van Stein (Leiden) on AutoML through code evolution. General chair Tome Eftimov leads with PC chairs Atlas Wang, Elena Raponi and Lars Kotthoff; there's also a NAS-on-unseen-data competition.

Where it fits

As models and agentic systems grow more complex, automating their construction — architecture search, hyperparameter optimization, and increasingly LLM-driven code and pipeline generation — becomes a force multiplier. AutoML is where that frontier is defined, sponsored by EurAI and the Slovenian AI community.
