Sociolinguistics and AI 2026
📅 Wednesday, 19 August 2026 → Friday, 21 August 2026 in 68 days
A three-day conference at the University of Copenhagen examining the sociolinguistics of artificial intelligence. It brings language researchers together around empirical, methodological and theoretical work on how AI shapes and is shaped by language use.
Sociolinguistics and AI 2026 runs on 19-21 August 2026 at the University of Copenhagen's South Campus, hosted by the AI-UNI team and the Centre for Internationalisation and Parallel Language Use (CIP). It is an in-person-only event focused on the intersection of sociolinguistics and artificial intelligence.
The programme accepts papers, posters and panels, with the organisers especially encouraging empirical work alongside methodological and theoretical contributions. Registration opens in spring 2026 with a conference fee capped at around 130 euros including lunches and breaks.
It suits language and communication researchers interested in how AI systems intersect with language, identity and social practice.
