SIU 2026 — Türkiye's Signal Processing & AI Conference
📅 Tuesday, 7 July 2026 → Friday, 10 July 2026 in 17 days
Turkey's largest IEEE signal-processing and communications conference, with heavy machine-learning, computer-vision and NLP tracks, meets in Istanbul.
SIU is the flagship Turkish IEEE conference at the intersection of signal processing, communications and, increasingly, artificial intelligence. The 34th edition is hosted by Piri Reis University at its maritime campus in Tuzla, Istanbul, on 7-10 July 2026. While its roots are in signal and image processing, the modern programme is substantially an AI conference: the official topics list machine learning and artificial intelligence, image processing and computer vision, natural language processing and text mining, biomedical signal and image analysis, and robotic control and automation. For an attendee, it is the central annual meeting point of the Turkish AI-and-signals research community, with a large student and early-career presence.
SIU's inclusion meaningfully fills a coverage gap - Türkiye is explicitly on the directory's wanted list - and it is a long-running, IEEE-backed event rather than a one-off. Holding it in Istanbul, a transcontinental city bridging Europe and Asia, underscores the conference's role as a regional hub drawing participants from across Turkey and neighbouring countries. The 2026 edition sits at the point where classical signal-processing expertise is being reframed through deep learning: many submissions apply modern neural methods to problems - biomedical imaging, speech, remote sensing - that the community has worked on for decades, making it a useful place to see applied AI grounded in real engineering domains.
