PyData PyCon Yerevan 2026 takes place on 24-25 July 2026 at the American University of Armenia (AUA) in Yerevan. It is the second edition of the city's PyData conference, this year merged with PyCon to bring the local and international data-science, research and Python communities together under one roof. The event is organised and led by AUA's Akian College of Science and Engineering, with NumFOCUS and PyData Global as key partners, placing it firmly within the established global PyData network rather than being a one-off local meetup.
The announced main theme is data-science best practices, machine-learning innovations and the latest developments in the Python ecosystem — the AI/ML and scientific-computing work that PyData conferences worldwide are built around. Confirmed keynote speakers include Ines Montani, co-founder and CEO of Explosion (the company behind the widely used spaCy NLP library), and Gor Hayrapetyan, a staff data engineer at ServiceTitan. The organising committee is drawn largely from AUA's data-science programme and the Armenian tech industry (VXSoft, Perceptron), and sponsors include WorldQuant, Wirestock and Plat.ai. Community partners span the local open-source scene, including the Armenian Julia (juliacon.am) and QGIS communities.
For attendees, the conference offers the usual PyData format of talks, tutorials and community sessions spanning machine learning, NLP, data engineering and applied Python tooling, aimed at practitioners from students through to senior engineers and researchers. The exact venue within Yerevan is to be confirmed on the official site, with tickets sold through the local eventhub.am platform. The event is a strong fit for worldwide AI coverage and helps fill the thin South Caucasus / Armenia region, where genuine AI-core conferences are scarce.
