Online expert panel on responsible AI use and ethics in legal aid, covering confidentiality, accuracy, equity, and human oversight.
This OpenAI Academy panel, run with Everlaw, LSNTAP, and sector experts, closes the legal-aid series by focusing on the harder questions of responsible AI use rather than tooling. The discussion examines practical considerations for legal services organisations adopting AI: confidentiality, accuracy, human review, equity, client trust, and appropriate boundaries for use.
Moderated by Everlaw Chief Legal Officer Gloria Lee, the panel brings perspectives from legal aid, the courts, technology, and responsible-AI practice, including a program officer for technology at the Legal Services Corporation and the director of an AI-for-nonprofits initiative. Attendees come away with key responsible-use considerations, ways to think about bias and human oversight, and concrete adoption questions for their own teams. It is aimed at legal aid leaders, attorneys, technologists, and program staff shaping AI policy and training. Listed as needs_review pending a check that no billed panellist is a current government official. The livestream is free; register through OpenAI Academy.
