Online introduction to using ChatGPT in legal aid and legal services work, run with Everlaw and LSNTAP.
This OpenAI Academy session, run with Everlaw and the Legal Services National Technology Assistance Project (LSNTAP), is a practical introduction to using ChatGPT in legal aid and access-to-justice work. Led by OpenAI's Lina Cross, it is built for legal services professionals who are new to the tools or want a refresher, and it keeps professional responsibility and client trust front and centre throughout.
Attendees get oriented to ChatGPT's core capabilities for research, drafting, analysis, and organisation, then practise clear prompting against realistic legal services workflows. The session shows examples of summarising information, preparing plain-language materials, and organising case-adjacent work, with an emphasis on starting with low-risk, repeatable tasks and building confidence over time. It is aimed at legal aid, legal services, and nonprofit legal professionals. The livestream is free; register through OpenAI Academy.
