📅 Thursday, 11 June 2026 → Friday, 12 June 2026 in 9 days
The second Law, AI and Regulation (LAIR) Conference at Erasmus University Rotterdam — an international academic forum on law, AI and regulation, with 24 paper presentations across six panels focused on the EU AI Act.
The Law, AI and Regulation (LAIR) Conference is an international academic forum bringing together scholars, practitioners and policymakers working at the intersection of law, artificial intelligence and regulation. Hosted at the Erasmus University Rotterdam campus, the 2026 edition is the second in the series, following the inaugural 2023 conference.
Who it's for
Legal scholars, practitioners and policymakers — plus researchers from philosophy, political science, sociology and computer science working on AI governance.
Programme
The conference spans two days and features 24 paper presentations organised across six thematic panels. The 2026 theme centres on the EU AI Act: its risk-based regulatory logic, conformity assessments and transparency-by-design, the role of standardisation bodies and national authorities, accountability and explainability, and its interaction with frameworks such as the GDPR. Selected papers are invited to a special-issue publication.
