The first international conference devoted to NLP for low-resource languages — Fes, Morocco, 28–30 Sep 2026.
LaTeLL 2026 — Language Technologies for Low-resource Languages runs 28–30 September 2026 in Fes, Morocco. While deep learning and large language models have transformed NLP, those gains have overwhelmingly benefited high-resource languages; low-resource languages account for at least 85% of the world's linguistic diversity yet remain underserved. LaTeLL is the first international conference dedicated specifically to the automatic processing of such languages, covering model development, evaluation, datasets and multilinguality.
The programme is chaired by Ruslan Mitkov (Lancaster University / University of Alicante) with a keynote from Nizar Habash (NYU Abu Dhabi). It matters because the next frontier of useful, equitable AI runs straight through the languages today's models handle worst — making this a high-signal venue for researchers working on multilingual and Arabic-dialect NLP.
