3rd International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026)

📅 Sunday, 2 August 2026 → Saturday, 8 August 2026 in 20 days

📍 Kazakh National University of Sports, Astana, KZ

The third International Olympiad in AI brings national high-school teams from 100+ countries to Astana for a week of individual and team AI contests.

The International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence is the AI equivalent of the long-established science olympiads: a week-long competition for high-school students, contested by national teams selected through country-level qualifiers. The third edition comes to Astana, with 103 countries and territories registered at the time of writing.

The format is a genuine contest, not a conference: arrival on 2 August, opening ceremony on the 3rd, Contest 1 on the 4th, Contest 2 on the 6th, closing and awards on the 7th, departure on the 8th. There are individual rounds, a Team Challenge with its own final, an appeals process and medals. Most sessions run at the Kazakh National University of Sports, with the Team Challenge final and other sessions at Alem.ai.

Hosted by the Competitive Programming Federation of Kazakhstan under UNESCO patronage, with sponsors including Google, Jane Street, IMC, Huawei, MBZUAI and Kaspi.kz. Previous editions ran in Bulgaria (2024) and China (2025), with Singapore announced for 2027.

Entry is via national delegations only — you cannot register as an individual. Contest tasks are in English, with team leaders translating.
