SLT is the biennial IEEE workshop bringing together speech and spoken-language researchers - ASR, spoken language understanding, speech foundation models and LLMs for speech. The 2026 edition is in Palermo, Sicily, in December, with a regular-paper deadline of 17 June 2026.
The IEEE Spoken Language Technology (SLT) Workshop is a biennial gathering of academia and industry across the spoken-language stack: automatic speech recognition, speaker and language recognition, diarization, spoken language understanding, dialogue, speech-to-speech translation, text-to-speech, and increasingly speech foundation models and large language models for speech. SLT 2026 runs 13-16 December 2026 in Palermo, Sicily, Italy.
This edition's special theme is Spoken Language Technology for Social Wellbeing in the Digital Privacy Era, adding tracks on voice technology in healthcare, privacy-preserving speech, anti-spoofing and deepfake detection. The regular and special-session paper deadline is 17 June 2026, with a challenge/demo deadline of 8 July 2026.
Papers (up to six pages plus references) are reviewed double-blind via OpenReview and published in IEEE Xplore.
