IEEE ICIP 2026 half-day workshop on ML and imaging for hydrology and environment, Tampere, 17 Sep 2026.

HydroImaging is a half-day workshop at the IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP 2026) in Tampere, led by the University of Oulu with co-organisers from RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and the University of Turku. It bridges Earth observation, computer vision and environmental modelling.

The programme focuses on data-centric machine learning, foundation models and deep-learning architectures for mining imaging and satellite data to support hydrological and environmental prediction. Attendees are researchers in machine vision, satellite observation and machine learning who want to apply modern AI to water-cycle and climate-relevant environmental problems. Held on 17 September 2026 within the ICIP programme, it is a compact, research-grade session that is unambiguously AI-core for the climate and sustainability gap.
