CAAI's flagship international AI research conference, at Zhejiang University's Haining International Campus.
The CAAI International Conference on Artificial Intelligence (CICAI 2026) is held on 17-19 October 2026 at the Haining International Campus of Zhejiang University, in Haining City, Zhejiang Province, China. It is organised by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), the country's principal AI learned society, and exists to advance research in AI and to foster scientific exchange among researchers, practitioners, students and engineers across AI and its affiliated disciplines.
This is a core academic AI conference: submissions are handled through OpenReview, with peer review feeding into a technical programme of presentations spanning machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, robotics and the broader AI research landscape. For 2026 the paper-submission deadline was 25 May, extended to 8 June, with acceptance notifications on 15 July and camera-ready papers due 31 July - so by the conference dates the technical line-up is set, and registration (early-bird deadline 25 August) is the relevant action for attendees.
For an attendee, CICAI offers a window into the Chinese AI research community at a strong host institution, with international participation encouraged (the organisers publish a downloadable invitation letter for visa purposes). It suits academics, graduate students and industry researchers who want exposure to current work coming out of China's universities and labs. As a research conference, the emphasis is on papers, posters and scholarly exchange rather than commercial exhibition.
