AI Industrial Summit 2026 (AI Next) — Sofia
📅 Saturday, 12 September 2026 in 81 days
Bulgaria's applied industrial-AI, automation and IoT summit - a free, multi-track day at Sofia Tech Park (Sep 12).
The AI Industrial Summit 2026 (also styled AI Next) is a one-day, in-person community conference held Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Laboratory Complex, Sofia Tech Park, Sofia, Bulgaria, running roughly 9:30am to 6:30pm. It is the eighth edition of a long-running Bulgarian technology event: it grew out of the IoT Bulgaria Summit (2016-2019), relaunched in 2022 as the AI and IoT Bulgaria Summit, and was renamed AI Industrial Summit to reflect a sharpened focus on industrial automation. The summit sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, automation and the Internet of Things, with an applied, builder-oriented character rather than an academic one. This matters now because the physical-AI and industrial-automation wave - agents and LLMs reaching into manufacturing, edge devices, robotics and operational systems - is one of the fastest-moving frontiers in applied AI, and Central and Eastern Europe has a deep engineering base increasingly active in this space; a Sofia-based community summit gives regional practitioners a venue that larger Western conferences rarely provide.
The publicly visible submitted-session list gives a clear sense of scope: agentic workflows and multi-agent systems, LLMs for context management and vibe coding, retrieval and vector embeddings on tabular data, NL2SQL, on-device and edge AI, Azure AI services and AI Foundry, Copilot Studio agents and governance, runtime threat detection with embeddings, IoT, and broader organizational themes such as leading engineering teams through the AI shift and turning AI use cases into business cases. The strong Microsoft/Azure and developer-tooling slant reflects the organizers' roots in the Bulgarian Software Community. Format is single-day, in-person, talk-driven, with a preliminary schedule assembled from an open call for speakers. The call (run on Sessionize) opened December 14, 2025 and closed May 31, 2026, so the speaker lineup is being finalized from submitted proposals.
The summit is well suited to software engineers and architects working on AI-enabled industrial and automation systems, IoT and edge developers, data and ML practitioners, Microsoft-stack and cloud engineers, technical leads and engineering managers, and members of the regional developer community looking to connect with peers. Attendees should expect a practical, hands-on program heavy on production patterns, cloud and agent tooling, and real implementation lessons, plus the networking value of a flagship regional gathering. As a community-run, single-day event it carries no peer-reviewed proceedings and no academic paper track - its appeal lies in concrete, deployable technical content and access to Bulgaria's and the wider region's applied-AI engineering community. Admission is free with registration required, which makes it an unusually accessible entry point into Southeast Europe's industrial-AI scene.
