AI Hype, Hope and Humanity is a three-day conference at Erasmus University Rotterdam bringing together researchers, policymakers, practitioners and societal partners under the theme "Co-creating Responsible AI across Research, Policy, and Practice." It is organised by the network of ELSA Labs in the Netherlands together with Erasmus University initiatives.

Who it's for

Researchers working on the ethical, legal and societal aspects of AI; policymakers shaping AI governance; practitioners applying AI in the real world; and societal partners and civil-society actors.

Programme

  • Tue 29 Sep (evening) — pre-conference welcome reception.
  • Wed 30 Sep — shared societal challenges and the current realities of AI across work, health, education, media, food, safety and defence.
  • Thu 1 Oct — transition and the way forward: workshops, debates, demos and an expo-style showcase, including a startup competition for responsible-AI solutions.
  • Fri 2 Oct — skills, education and long-term change for responsible AI.
