Algiers summer school on AI-enabled remote sensing and space-technology workflows.

AGR3S 2026, the sixth Algerian Geoscience & Remote Sensing Summer School, runs from 12 to 15 September 2026 at USTHB (the Université des Sciences et de la Technologie Houari Boumediene) in Bab Ezzouar, Algiers. The four-day, in-person programme is built around the theme “Space technologies & remote sensing using artificial intelligence”, with sessions spanning new space technologies, remote sensing and AI, IoT systems, machine learning, satellite image classification and UAV technologies.

Attendees can expect keynote and tutorial teaching from Professor Adriano Camps of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, speaking on microwave remote sensing and GNSS reflectometry, and Dr Vahid Akbari of the University of Stirling, covering AI for Earth observation and SAR. Student registration is listed at 5,000 DZD, or 6,000 DZD including a poster.

At the time of writing the general registration status appears as closed, while the call for participation remains open: the poster abstract deadline is given as 25 July 2026, with acceptance notifications due on 30 July 2026. Prospective participants should confirm the current status directly with the organisers before travelling.
